For these images, root's password is "p4ssw0rd". The Debian image also has an user called "user" with the same password. Minimalism rulez: these are small (512MB) images, half filled. No X, no sources, no ports/packages, and no MP kernels. Just base system binaries. Default choices everywhere. Minimum services: getty listening to the serial console, cron, and sshd listening to 22/tcp. Networking: configured to Just Work (TM) under qemu defaults. You could use a script like qemu.sh to start these images for you. They can be used to try new systems, or as extremely powerful (and a bit resource-wasteful) chroot jails... just don't expect great performance :-) Have fun. -- Guillem
